Miklós Perényi has recorded the Suites for CD release on two occasions, 38 years apart! This would appear to be a record for the unassuming Hungarian to claim but no sign of him doing so.
Completists will note that there was a DVD only release of the complete Suites (2006) as well and more recently a recording of the sixth Suite on the ECM label (2009).
The first recording dates from 1982 and is available only on LP.
The second and much more successful recording in our view was released in 2020 at the age of 72 years. No evidence of age diminishing the artist’s skills!
